INTERNAL SCHOLARSHIP SUBSIDY
This Subsidy is applicable towards:
- Internal Scholarship Subsidy
The Internal Scholarship Subsidy offers a subsidy to qualifying Students to mitigate the cost of Education. Students covered under the Subsidy will receive support in the form of monthly allowances distributed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MOHERI) directly to their bank account.
The Internal Scholarship Subsidy can be availed only by Omani Nationals (Students) who meets the below defined criteria by MOHERI:
- To avail the Internal Scholarship Subsidy, the seekers Civil ID must be present in the Internal Scholarship Subsidy Master Database and be active, as defined by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MOHERI).
- The Seeker can avail the Subsidy if they comply with the defined criteria of the distance between the Educational Institution and their Residence.

How to Apply for the Internal Scholarship Subsidy?
Prior to registering for the Internal Scholarship Subsidy, the subsidy seeker must ensure that their Civil ID is verified with Royal Oman Police (ROP).
- New Applicants: Application for the Internal Scholarship Subsidy can be submitted via the National Subsidy System (NSS) Portal or the Mobile App for NSS after he/she is registered on the NSS and logged in
- Existing Active User Linked to Electricity Subsidy: Existing registered Electricity Subsidy Seekers/Users have the option to register and apply for the Internal Scholarship Subsidy directly from their Dashboard (This is subject to Seekers and Users meeting the Internal Scholarship Subsidy’s eligibility criteria)
Please Note:
- The Internal Scholarship Subsidy registration process will be available from September 2024
- The Internal Scholarship Subsidy operates in coordination with the Royal Oman Police (ROP), Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MOHERI) and the Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM)
- The MOHERI will update their Internal Scholarship Master Database once every 4 months, if the Internal Scholarship Subsidy User is found noncompliant with the subsidy, then their subsidy will be automatically cancelled.
